Corrupted layered TIF file

I recently worked on a TIF file (from Capture 1) in Photoshop and just like how I would normally save it in a layered file. The next time I open my mac, I couldn't access the file anymore via PS, my image previewer, gimp or any other software. It keeps telling me that the file might be corrupt. I don't what I've done wrong as I just saved it just the rest of my other layered TIF files. The other TIF files are all working.

Corrupt files usually have one of two causes:

1, power outage or crash while in the process of saving

2 failing hardware - a disk about to fail, or bad RAM. It can also be an external drive with a loose cable/connector.

Make backups immediately if you haven't already. The important thing is to identify the cause and stop further corruption.

Thank you for this. I will check on it. Is there a way to recover a corrupt tiff file? I don't wanna have to start all over again on the file.
