Corrupted PSD??

Community Beginner ,

Hello

I'm trying to open some old photos in the PSD in my Mac, but some of them seem corrupted. But when I open them in LR they seem fine... I tried to reinstall photoshop but still the same. Is there a way to validate?

Any recommendations?

Thanks

LR is likely showing you the embedded thumbnail or its own previews.

Can you upload one of the problematic documents you see in PS for others to examine? Maybe it's a PS preview issue: what happens if in Preferences, you disable GPU?

Sorry, just found the download (email notifications have been iffy the last few days).

What I have is a huge PSD, sorry thought you were dealing with a raw that might have been corrupted.

That said, if I look ONLY at the lowest layer (Layer 0) I see this area of blue that appears like the raw or original may have been corrupted. Here's what I see and it doesn't look right:

The layer above it looks even worse.

So yes, there's something damaged in this PSD, maybe not the original raw (or you'd have seen it) but what you're seeing is in this document. It isn't a GPU or display issue.

The document in LR may be a flattened version without damage, I'd look at it IN Photoshop. But this huge PSD is hosed; sorry.

Did you try and re-save as different name in LR then open in photoshop?
