Could not complete the Perspective Warp command because of a program error (Photoshop 2023)

Hi people,

I'm really not sure why Photoshop is throwing up this error. It seems to be very random, I'll be using the perspective warp tool in the document and then it randomly decides it doesn't want to do it anymore and I get this.

I was working on a file that had vector smart objects that were drag-n-dropped from illustrator in photoshop, and as I said previously I was having no issues perspective warping them. Then it randomly stops. I have tried rasterising the layer and trying again, no luck. I thought it might be because the element I was importing was text, so I converted it into a shape in Ai and then imported, no luck. 

The 'Learn how to fix' button takes me to Adobe's page on "Program error when opening or saving files", which isn't an accurate description of my problem. Regardless, I tried the solutions on there (clear Ps preferences, disable generator, roll-back to previous version of Ps etc.). As well as this, I have tried updating my graphics driver- all to no avail.

I am truly at the end of my tether, I have no idea what else to try! I've never had a problem with this before. Anyone else got any suggestions/having the same problem? I can't seem to find any threads directly related to this problem and the perspective warp tool.

my work setup is an RTX 2080ti, AMD Ryzen 9, with 32GB ram. Should be no problems at all.

Are you hiding your already added layers? That would be worth a try. Perhaps it's mucking up things....

good shout, but still get the same issue. very strange. the only way I've been able to work around it before is to open up a completely new photoshop file and paste everything into it, and even then it's still

temperamental. which leads me to suspect it's perhaps a bug rather than something to do with my settings?

I'm having the same issues - my file involves over 25 items being perspective warped and I need to add more. Photoshop is now telling me that is has a program error and cannot transform or warp any items. What's going on? The only way I've been able to work around the issue is by flattening half the file and then starting a new file and pasting the flattened file in, but this makes it incredibly difficult to go back and revise things. I've even confirmed my preferences against the initial Photoshop help for graphics cards. What now?

I'm also having this issue. It's completely halted my work flow on an entire series of projects. I've tried everything I can think of, even uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop. My device is a less than a year old Surface Pro 8, with the surface Pen 2. With no other apps open to impede ram usage. Fully up to date. I tried to revert photoshop to the previous version after this most recent update and it just Uninstalled.
