You didn’t mention what the content of the clipboard is.

What did you copy? In which application? etc.

Or what the specifics of the three psd-files in which the issue arises are.

Color Mode, Bit Depth, pixel dimensions, etc.?

This error is not tied to particular files, but the contents of your clipboard. Any time you use "Copy" (CMD/Ctrl+C as well as "Cut", CMD/Ctrl+X) on your computer, in any application, it goes into the univeral OS clipboard, which is accessible by your entire computer. When working in Photoshop, it checks the clipboard contents to prep them for use. If it can't work with the contents, it gives this message.

You can clear the contents of your clipboard from Photoshop: Edit > Purge > Clipboard. You can also clear it on Windows in System Settings > Clipbard > Clear. Mac doesn't have a similar option. But the clipboard is cleared when restarting your computer on either platform. Without clearing the clipboard, it remains persistent. So, if your computer has been running for a week and you copied something several days ago, it is still waiting in the background for Photoshop to try to use when you open a file and return an error, even though it doesn't seem like you've done anything to cause the message.

After clicking OK in the message, you should be able to use Photoshop and work with your files. Do you find something else happens?

Looking at the wording of your posts and subject line, I am not entirely sure what actions generated the error message, so I am thinking it would be helpful if you gave us a detailed step by step that led to the situation.

How did you place the file in the clipboard, and what was its file type?

Did you open a new document in Photoshop and try to paste the contents of the clipboard into it?
I have tried copying text to the clipboard and pasting it into a raster layer, but nothing happens and no error message.

I am not able to right click any file types in File Explorer and copy to clipboard.  I only get the option to copy its file path. So, right now I have been unable to generate that error message.

If you could give us that detailed step by step process you used, and if you are able to repeat it with the same result, I suspect we will be a lot closer to understanding what is going on.
