Could not open a PSD file in Paint Tool Sai

I downloaded a .psd file from dropbox and need to color it in SAI for someone, but there was an error pop-up when trying to open it. I need to preserve the layers and cannot work with just a .jpeg file where it'll been flattened. The error message that comes up when I try to open the .psd in SAI is "Color mode is only acceptable in 8bit RGB in PSD loader"

    Correct answer

    I could be wrong but you may need to convert the PSD from CMYK to RGB

    Try to make a copy of the file and change the extension to be (.TIFF)

    Looks like this one was a generic gray profile. Converted it to RGB (1998) with the flatten to preserve it option turned off. Thanks for the help
