Hi Adobe,

Last job before Christmas, so it's a nice feeling, already 10h done around another 10h, so everything in the right track... It's time to take a break, don't take a chance, save the file and close PS(25.1), so everything is save and secure... back from my break ready to go the last strecht on that job(at least 10h). Lunch PS pretty motivated, here we go Ps is ready, click on the file to open it and ........complete silence....... feeling of a little knot in the stomach..... very nice feeling to have on the last job for a client.....

So PS decided to make it more difficult, why not.... He can do what he want.... no matter the cost..... really the best friend to have....

So PS could not open the last file,  because of a program error.... 

I know you will say , it can be my system, my graphic card,  my RAM, if everything is up to date.... You will ask to uninstall, reinstall, uncheck this and that and jump in so many loops.... Don't feel like it... it doesn't make sense.....

every other file-pics no matter if it's: PSD, TIFF, PNG, JPG, PS agree to open it.. but only refuse to open the last one I was working on it !!!!!   the last job..... again it was save and PS close, the way it suppose to...

The PS version I was working with 25.1, was OK and can deal with few bugs that come with it, did not kept the V25.2 way to many bugs.... So I did update to 25.3.1...even if still have many bugs.... As suspected nothing change, but stubborn as PS can be, he still refuse to open the file in question....

So what are my option, beside starting all over the job and miss the dead line and my day off for Christmas... ????? And of course with the feeling even worse, not to trust Photoshop.... I work since many many years with PS, etc... from Adobe. I'm use of having bugs, but it look like they are more and more bugs and they do more damage.. Should it be the opposite !!!! it feel like Adobe it's a house with a weak foundation, but decided to add more floor, on top of it, thinking it will all go well......

PS 25.1 and  today update to 25.3.1. hoping it will fix the problem... but didn't

It looks like you have a corrupt file, given that you say all other files open OK. If that is the case then you will need to start again.

Corrupt files are normally down to hardware issues. You didn't mention whether your save was to an external drive, network drive or a local drive in your PC. I would never recommend saving direct to external or network drives (Adobe also do not support that). If the connection is disrupted your file will corrupt.

It's little help now, but if you are working on a document for a long time, make incremental saves as you work (filename001.psd filename002.psd ...etc.). Make them to a local drive on your PC and copy to external if you need the space. When done and you have verified the last version opens OK you can delete the earlier increments. That way the most you will lose is a step back to the previous incremental save.

The file was save before shutting down PS and was save on a second local SSD drive. (Samsung 980 Pro) all my local SSD are also Samsung 980 Pro.

I also have many Exterior SSD Drive and never had any issu with PS.... that<s wath I do I do my work on Internal SSD drive and when the job is done et finalize, I do tranfere them on external SSD drive.  

agree with you multiple save is the way to go and PS is set to save automaticly every 5min. 

But in this specific case I did not save many copy increments. But still is not the first time and never-never had that problem, more so because the file are always manually save. befor closing PS or else...
