I'm attempting to make a Photoshop Action that creates a series of guides by percentage. I start recording and create a horizontal guide at, say, 30%. But when I go back and look at the action it always converts to real pixels. That's a problem because I'm creating square images that need guides in the same place but are sometimes different sizes. Is there any way to get around this?
Thanks!
Darrell Leland
If the ruler units are set to %, then the action will record as %.

OK, this works great now. I'm creating guides for thumbnail images on the new folder design under Windows 11, and this is a big help. Thanks!

I just tried this with a new Guide at 75%, and saw what you are seeing. I tried running it on several different size and shaped images, and they all had guides at 75%, despite what the Actions panel said.
[EDIT] Good point Stephen. Mine are set to Pixels.

This is the latest release of Photoshop for Windows, 23.2.2, under Windows 11 on a pretty high end machine.

So there is no problem? If you set your rulers to % then the action records and plays back as %???
If so, please mark my post as the correct answer to close-off the topic.

I forgot to mention, that View > New Guide Layout can also be recorded into an action.
