Creating a Content Aware Action

Hello,

 

I am trying to create an Action in PS that uses the new Content Aware Fill (CAF).

I want to be able to select a distraction, for example, and play the action that will open CAF, make the correction after which I deselect the selection and be done.  In particular, I would like to have CAF "Stop" once opened so that I can manually adjust the sampling area, click OK and have the actions continue.

 

I have an action similar to this but before we were able customize the sampling area and it works great.  I have it set on "F2" and it saves a lot of time as I have a lot of distractions to remove.  I wanted to be able to do the same thing but utilize the custom sampling feature that is new to PS 2020. 

 

Try as I might, I can't get this to work.  When I am recording the action, CAF stops on the custom sampling screen but when I play the action, it breezes through without giving me a chance to modify the custom sampling area.  I tried inserting a "Stop" but it attaches after the CAF layer has completed rendering.

 

Don't know what to do or where to go.  I am aware that certain functions cannot be put into an action and maybe this is one of them.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Actions, Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) and teh expanded Action visible? 

Did you check the »Toggle dialog on/off«-field?

    I did NOT check the Dialog toggle On/Off and turns out that was the problem.  I recreated the Action and then turned the toggle for Dialog "On" and now the Actions pauses after opening Content Aware Fill which allows me to adjust the sampling area.  Once I click OK, the Action resumes.
