Creating a GIF

I am trying to create a gif. 

When I try to get the frames into the timeline I click on the three lines as instructed.  I get a very different menu from the ones shown in all the video tutorials. I get this:

I am stuck. I cannot drag my frames into the timeline. PLEASE HELP.
