Creating shape layers from selection [was "editing"]

Can marqueed items or wand selections be converted to shapes/objects that can be selected and edited in acrobat once you've saved the document as a PDF?

    If you want to make the selection a solid color you can. If you want to make a shape layer with multiple colors, you can't.

    Once you make your selection, open the path panel and select make path from selection:

    In the layers panel, create a solid color fill layer.

    I have to do this to all 48 pages of this book. Once I save them as a PDF. I would like to be able to change the color globally if necessary. For some reason it still won't let me. I have PDF toolbox and enfocus pitstop. Any suggestions?

    You could convert the Selection to a Path and create a Shape Layer, but that may not suffice for your intentions.
