Question

Creative cloud deletes the "keyboard shorcut.psp" at each update...

Hi,

...so, only the  keyboard shorcut Primary.psp file remains and my own shorcuts are gone.

I have to backup my 'shorcut Primary.psp' file and add it manually each time Creative Cloud change my Photoshop version (currently 20.0.5 20190605.r.83 2019/06/05: 1206907 x64).

How to get Creative Cloud to keep my shorcut Primary.psp file ?

Many thanks to those who could help.

Colette.

User preferences and settings are generally not preserved between major versions. There are many reasons for this, but the most important one is that architectural changes in the application may render the prefs files unreadable/meaningless/inapplicable/incomplete.

In other words - there's no guarantee your previous preferences/settings will work in the new version.

Another thing is that user preferences easily get corrupted over time, because they are rewritten every time you close the application. So it might not be such a bad idea to start with a fresh set.

    Hi D Fosse !

Thank you for your quick answer, great !

I understand your reasoning but Photoshop is a major software, it may convert old psp files to the new version when upgrading the whole soft.

    Lot of softs ensure that.

I have to manually recreate my shortcuts every 2 months on average.

    Have a nice day,

    Colette

    Hi Colette,

Sorry that Creative Cloud is deleting your keyboard shortcut file. I'd like to understand your query better. May I know why are you keeping the keyboard shortcut .psp file on the Creative Cloud storage? Where exactly are you saving these files, are you keeping it in the "Creative Cloud files" folder?

    Thanks,

    Akash

    Hi Akash Sharma,

First, I'l glad to a so quick answer, great !

"May I know why are you keeping the keyboard shortcut .psp file on the Creative Cloud storage?"

I don't know about the Creative Cloud storage. I only manage my shorcut file in the :

"C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings"

    on my PC.

"Where exactly are you saving these files, are you keeping it in the "Creative Cloud files" folder?"

I save my 'keaboard shorcut.psp' file in :
"C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings"

    on my PC.

You suggest to save this file into the 'Creative Cloud Storage', I don't know how to do it, could you explain to me ?

    Many Thanks
