Crop Tool Dot In the middle

I googled trying to find the answer to my question, before coming here; but was unsuccessful.

I got a new Mac Book Pro, and installed Photoshop, yet the Crop tool isn't the same, in terms of I cannot figure out where and/or how to place the X that is in the middle, normally, in the crop tool.

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong, and/or how to place the X that is in the center of the crop tool, normally?

Thank you in advance.

Have you just upgraded to CC 2020? I am not sure if it was CC 2018 or 2017, but the center transformation "x" that you are refering to is no longer used in CC2020, nor was it used in CC 2019

Are you asking about the Overlays?

If so use the o key (that is the oh key not zero) to cycle through the available overlays.

I'll be honest with you, I don't know if it is an overlay or not, but on my home iMAC, when I use the crop tool, there is an X in the middle of the crop area, whether is is a 7x5 crop, a 16x9 crop, etc.....there is always an X in the middle of the crop tool.

I tried to use the o (not the zero key) to cycle through and the only thing that happened is that the crop went away.....

Thank you for trying to help me with this.  Driving me crazy.  LOL !!
