CS6 Photoshop image analysis tools greyed out

I would like to set measurement scale and record measurements from images. I have found great tutorials on how to do this, but these functions are greyed out and not available when I try to follow the tutorials.

Is there some sort of initiation step for using these tools in the perpetual licence version of Photoshop? (I have Photoshop 13.0 x64 running on Windows 10)

(v13), but 3D potion not available,(it's not a matter).

I need proper work analysis option.

If you don't have the extended version, you won't have the analysis tools. Only way to get them now is to subscribe to the current version of Photoshop.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) and the dialogs visible?

On which Photoshop versions were the tutorials created?
