Hi, yesterday I opened photoshop (V 23.0.2) and the rectangular frame selector cursor has changed to a continuous black line... As I work a lot with black background, I can't see anything of what I'm selecting... How can I return to its original state, dotted line? Thank you very much for your help!

Thanks to everyone, it was finally solved by updating the operating system (Monterey on Mac).

Gracias a todos, al final se resolvió actualizando el sistema operativo (Monterey en Mac)

I agree this could be videro card driver related...

To help solve the issue in Photoshop, select Help > System Info.

  1. In the System Info dialog, click Copy.
  2. Attach or copy the info here to this thread.

Mmm...that shouldn't happen. This is what I have (I'm on Windows):

There maybe a video driver thing going on? (I know you guys don't have much choice when it comes to drivers for GPU.)

Did you try turning the GPU off via Photoshop (Edit on Windows) > Preferences > Performance > Graphics Processor Settings > Use Graphics Processor. Also try checking Technology Previews > Deactivate Native Canvas.

Have you tried  deactivating photoshop native canvas support? Restart Photoshop after deactivating it.
