Cursor wanders like crazy in Photoshop?!

Hello,

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm new to Photoshop, and I just subscribed to Photoshop CC. I've been attempting to learn my way around it, but the cursor keeps wandering around like it's possessed! Since I know your going to ask if it does it outside of Photoshop--no, it does not! As soon as a switch to Google Chrome or just leave Photoshop, the crazy cursor problem goes away. It's very, very, frustrating--it's actually making the program unusable at times.

I've done a recent malware/virus scan with Malwarebytes and it's come up with nothing. Once again however, it only happens in Photoshop, which is downright odd.

Any help would be very appreciated, because a Google search of the problem yielded nothing specific to Photoshop.

Cheers,

Gillian

Hello, in the past, I've seen this issue because of a Wacom stylus placed on the tablet...

Nope, I don't have one of those...and no other device of any kind except my fingers have touched the keyboard.

However, as I mentioned--it did not do it in Safe Mode. Other weird issues I was having also disappeared in Safe Mode. I ran Malwarebytes and Norton Power Eraser and came up clean. I think this is a Windows 10 bulls*^&t update graphics driver issue. I reset Windows 10, reinstalled Photoshop, and now it's working just fine--no more wandering cursor.

OK--just in case anyone else is running in to this problem,

I ran Photoshop in Safe Mode, and aalll the  issues I was having--wandering cursor, fill tool not working, and dialogue boxes not coming up--disappeared. I'm running a scan, and I'll report what I find and how I hopefully fixed it just In case anybody else runs into these issues.

It happened to me twice the other day. It was very unnerving to see the cursor take off by itself. I rebooted and it hasn't happened since.

    Thanks,

I'll try that--but this has happened on and off since I've had Photoshop, and I've rebooted several times just because I usually close down the computer at night--and the problem still returns. I'll try running it in Safe Mode to see if it happens there.

Also--my "fill" tool is not working. I'm watching a handy YouTube tutorial and I'm copying the project, and my rectangle will not change color, even though it shows that it's been selected?! Argh. I know, what a noob. I'm working with a rectangle. However, if I cannot master the rectangle, how will I ever create a dolphin bursting in to flames while jumping over a rainbow!!! Lol...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, photo shop forum users!
