Curvature pen tool

Upon updating to Photoshop 20.0.8 the pen/path tool add the selection inverted. I have read much on this about the path operations but none of this helps, or works!
So frustrating that this happens without any warning whilst I was working.

Please post a meaningful screenshot inclusing all pertinent Panels (Options, Paths, …). 

PathOprations can still be changed for existing subPathItems by the way,
