Curve tool - adjustment with hand extremely delayed

If I create a new adjustment layer with a curve and use the hand tool for choosing the correct tonal value - and then move the hand up and down for changing the tonal value, the curve follows bt very much delayed - and it does not stop, when I stop - continues for up to 2-3 secs!!! I have tested this on both a MacPro with Mojave and a MacBook Pro 2019 running Catalina.

This is really annoying!!!
