Curves and levels not working in all zoom views

Hi!

I just found a bug in Photoshop 23.2.2. When using the curves or levels adjustment layers (and regular levels adjustment at image » adjustments » levels) the changes cannot be seen in all zoom views.  They only work below 50% zoom. I made a video showing the bug: https://youtu.be/8jouGKuXiTo

 

My System:

MacMini 2018 running MacOS 12.2.1

3.2 GHz 6 core i7

16gb DDR 4 RAM

Integrated Intel Graphics 630 1536 MB

Photoshop 23.2.2

This is actually a limitation caused by the interpolation of pixels when an image is reduced from 100%. It's especially noticeable with images that have a lot of noise in them like the one you are demoing in. The only accurate view of a document is 100%.

 

You can increase the accuracy at different views to some degree by reducing the number of cache levels under Preferences > Performance... (use a setting of 2) - restart Photoshop. Again, the only accurate view for an image is at 100% - especially for evaluating color, noise, and sharpness. Note: Lower cache settngs can negatively affect performance for documents that have large pixel dimensions.

    First, try disabling GPU in the Preferences (Performance tab). Any better?
    If not, go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Better?
    If not, recalibrate and build a new ICC display profile, the old one might be corrupted.
    If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix not LUT profile, Version 2 not Version 4 profile.
    If turning OFF GPU works, it's a GPU bug and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it. On the Mac, that's part of the OS update(s) so if this is the latest OS version, you may need to roll back a release.
