Curves and mask stopped working!?

Hey guys,

I was just using a curves layer with mask and then all of a sudden it stopped working with the brush tool and any new curve layer on this image or any other image doesn't work. I tried looking up others with this issue and I have already been switching from black to white color so that is not the issue. The actual curve will change the image but I can't use the mask.
