Custom Brushes 2019

Engaged ,
Nov 29, 2018 Nov 29, 2018

I created many custom brushes before the brush tools were recently expanded, and had a good grasp of the parameter settings. I now have some of the Kyle Webster brushes, but how are they generated? I'm assuming he uses the same tools available to all PShop users, and adds custom elements where applicable. I would like to create specific custom brushes from scratch, using the new expanded options. Are the Kyle Webster brushes created in the standard brush settings with custom textured "nozzles"? I notice the Kyle Webster brushes are limited to 300 pixels (???) and the brush tool gets toggled to the pencil tool. Seems odd.

There are lots of tutorials out there for making brush presets.  The difference is that we can now save new presets with tool settings.

Because we can save with tool presets, you need to take note of tool a particular preset is using.

So, for instance, you have the Smudge tool, (red highlight) and mixer brush (green highlight) along with brush presets in the Kyle mega-pack

Yes, with the new Tool Settings, you can save a brush to a specific tool like Pencil or Mixer Brush. If you don't want to use that, just untick tool settings with saving a new brush.

Did you also check out the additional brush packs from Kyle? Just click on "Get More Brushes" in your fly-out panel and your browser will go directly to that page.
