I need to deactivate my CS4 Creative suite - I know it is an old product (this is why adobe chat refuses to help me and said I can only ask via a forum). I have the uptodate subscription versions of Photoshop and Lightroom but still use elements of the old software. For some reason when I try I keep getting messages that firewalls are the problem - even though I have turned them off. If anyone can help would be most grateful.
I believe if you get in touch with a good Adobe Customer Support employee that you can communicate with they can help you its their job and they have been trained to help with installation problems.

I believe if you get in touch with a good Adobe Customer Support employee that you can communicate with they can help you its their job and they have been trained to help with installation problems.
However, If you have your CS4 Creative suit installed and activated on a machine you should be able to deactivate it using the cs4 creative suite applications. There should be such a feature. For example Photoshop CS4 menu Help>Deactivate. On the other side of the coin if your activated CS4 Suite machine no longer exist or functional only Adobe can deactivate your CS4 activation and it is Adobe Customer Support responsibility to help you with installation problem.
CS4 is no longer supported CS4 bugs will never be fixed. You are not asking for support you are asking Adobe to correct their activation database that the machine they have on record as having you CS4 Suite activated no lone exists therefore the activation record is wrong and Adobe needs to correct their record so that you can use their product you purchased a license to use. Their Database is preventing you from Activating CS4 and using your licence.

Only Adobe can reset the activations for you an Adobe Support via chat is responsible for that:
Be sure to only ask to have your activations reset. If the support agent says they can't do it, ask for a supervisor.
Let us know what happens.

Hi Terence.l.Walker,
Please send me a PM with your Adobe_Id and the product serial number and I'll help you with resetting the activation count.
Also, I'd recommend you to take a look at this article Resolve connection errors with Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite applications and go through each troubleshooting step. If you're getting messages saying that something is preventing the activation, this article is worth trying.
Thanks,
Akash

I would be delighted to send you a PM, but don't know how to send you a pm rather than a general reply. So many thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I look forward to you reply. I would mention I have gone through all the options mentioned in the various trouble shooting articles on line but to no avail!
