Question

Defect JPGs on NAS Server when saved by Photoshop

Hi,

I am running a desktop on Win10 with PS and Bridge.

When I am saving a picture from Photoshop to a folder on my NAS Server (Synology) it is a bit like a lottery

whether or not this picture will be saved correctly as a JPG or whether it will be defect and cannot be displayed correctly by Windows Explorer or Digital Photo Professional 4. I have no idea what the reason for this might be because I can not discover any pattern why pictures are saved correctly or not. Any idea where to look for a solution ? If I am saving pictures to an internal disk the problem doesn't seem to exist.

Thx. for your help and comments.

You can take a look at the Adobe help file below, but the bottom line is that Photoshop is not supported to save and export directly to network drives. The safe method is save locally then copy to your network drive.

Hi

Adobe Technical Support only supports using Photoshop and Adobe Bridge on a local hard disk. It's difficult to re-create or accurately identify network- and peripheral-configuration problems.

Thx for the info.

Strange enough...when I save the file the second time it is always correctly stored.

Maybe I should save files to a folder on a local drive and then copy them over...
