Question

Desktop icon disappeared as an 'open' or 'save as' option

Came back from a week's holiday.  Computer switched off for that time.  Cranked it up again, went to open Photoshop (I have PS beta and PS 2024) and the icon for the desktop had disappeared as an option for 'open' or 'save as'.

I'm using an iMac, OS Ventura 13.3.1

Thanks, Heather

Holiday you say?  Sounds like mice to me.

But...  Could it have been an update from when you shut down before heading away?

I guess I am not 100% sure what your situation is.  Is it the Photoshop desktop icon that is missing?

Or are the options for Open and Save As no longer appear in the right click menu?

Is this issue preventing you freom using Photoshop, or opening a specific file or what?

I am a Windows user, so I don't know how it works with Mac systems, so can you still open Photoshop, and make a new desktop icon maybe?

If I am miles off the mark, would a screen shot make things clearer?

Hmmm...  I did look at your screenshot, but it then went out of my head while hunting for that mouse!

Was Photoshop in the list below?  I see that is for designated favourites, so has Photoshop just fallen off the favourites list?  It'll be that persky mouse for sure.

Thanks Trev.  Holiday was great.  I finally tracked the desktop icon down.  It had migrated itself to my home folder - maybe it wanted a holiday too!  This has happened before but I couldn't remember how to find it.  Hope I don't forget this time!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
