DNG Converter paradox

The current Adobe DNG converter says it provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras to Photoshop versions from CS to CS6 and more. If I'm not mistaken, Photoshop CS5 and older do not officially run beyond macOS 10.6.3, CS6 does a little better, yet the DNG converter requires macOS 10.15 or later to install. Am I missing something here?

My problem is that I have PS CS6 running on macOS 10.12. and need RAW support for a new camera (originally released in late 2017). Any advice?

Correct answer Jeff Arola

If you download the 11.4.1 adobe dng converter, that should support 10.12 and your camera.

You can try this link and then look for the DNGConverter_11_4_1.dmg

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/dng/mac

If your browser won't open the link you can use Go To Server from the Go menu and check in as a Guest.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded and installed the software with no problem The converter works and I can now convert images to a format my Photoshop understands.

Problem solved for now.

This will buy me a little more time with the old CS6 before I switch to CC most likely later this year.

Thanks!

What is the make and model of camera?

You may be able to get an older dng converter that handles your camera and is compatible with 10.12 Sierra.

There are earlier questions about older versions of the DNG converter with links provided in replies. Those links are old and they prompt security alert, they are not useful.
