Under the print dialogue in photoshop, the document profile says "untagged rgb" which means there is no embedded profile. Any photos I used to scan had a profile, and when I open old photos that i've scanned or worked on that once had a profile, they no longer do. I went into the color management policies under edit -> color settings and my RGB, CMYK, and Gray all say preserve embedded profiles. I am not sure what the actual problem is or why my photos that once automatically had profiles, no longer do.

@Berger Brothers hard to say why profiles may have disappered aor the creation app stopped embedding them - but to fix the untagged status, you'll need to go to edit/ assign profile - if you're wortking on a well calibrated and profiled display thern the appearance of an image will guide you as to which is the right ICC profile to assign - you mentioned sRGB, so start with that, then save with the profile embedeed (you'll see that optioin checkbox in the save dialog, it should be checked as default.)

Look at the settings in your scanning software. The initial profile should be assigned and embedded from there.

Under the epson scan 2 software, in color management i have it on color control. Previously the profiles would show up, but i haven't changed any settings in the scanning software.

Here’s how to verify whether the profiles are present right out of the scanning software:

1. Scan something.

2. View the scan in another application that can report the profile status, such as Apple Preview, Adobe Bridge, or Apple ColorSync Utility. Or just select the file in the macOS Finder and choose File > Get Info, as shown in the picture below.

3. Inspect the profile name if there is one, or note if the software says there is no profile.

If it reports the profile name, then you know it has one before you open it in Photoshop.

If it doesn’t report a profile name, then you know the scanning software didn’t embed one.

Immediately after you open it Photoshop, if the Status Bar is set to Document Profile, you can confirm that the document has a profile before printing.

These techniques should help you understand where in the workflow the profiles are going missing.

@Berger Brothers do you recall what profile was saved with the images? What file type are teh older images saved as?

The majority of the files are JPEG's. Originally the profile said: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 . It seems almost like it disappeared but I'm not really sure.

I always choose photoshop manages colors and then use this profile: GPSPP12_EPSpro3880_PSPPn for my pearl paper, but i was just confused on why my photos dont have the profile from the start.
