I'm doing a class project which requires me to download external brush textures to complete homework but this is my first day and i do not know how to perform any simple task first day ever.

Good day!

Once you downloaded the abr-file/s you can load them in several ways:

• drag the file’s icon onto the Photoshop program icon

• copy it to the Presets/Bruhes-Folder and load them from the Brush Presets Panel’s fly-out menu

Photoshop CS6 preference file functions, names, locations

• invoke Edit > Presets > Preset Manager, hit the »Load«-button and manually select it

Brushes or Brush Presets can be obtained from many online sources.  Just make sure the brushes you obtain are compatible with your version of Photoshop.

Select the Brush from your Toolbar.  Above the toolbar, click on the down arrow for more options.  See screenshots.

Click the Gear icon to add more brushes.   Click on Load Brushes.
