Downloaded brush does not work

I downloaded a screentone brush on the internet. I loaded the abr file on my CS6 and tried to use it but it just looks like in the picture. It became a charcoal brush and I have no idea how to fix it.

What happens when you try a smaller brush size?

Did you check »Always use pressure for size« on purpose? 

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Brush Settings [Texture], Options Bar, …) visible?
