dpx files error in Photoshop?

hi, I am having trouble opening dpx files in photoshop. 

the images are renders from cinema 4d saved as xxx.dpx 10bit depth 32 bit channel 

this is how it looks in photoshop

I found a work around, opening the image in after effects and saving the frame in psd format.

(not great) 

my question, any idea what I am doing wrong?
