Question

Dragging selection borders/corners

Is there any way in Photoshop to drag the selection borders or corners? I can drag and move the entire selection, but I cannot pick a border or a corner and transform the selection that way (not the content, the  selection itself). That would be so useful.

Maybe you should consider using Paths (and Vector Masks), those maintain a different kind of editability than Selections/Layer Masks.

  1. Make a Selection.
  2. Choose Transform Selection from the Select menu.
  3. Hold down Command/Control and move any of the squares that define the corners or edge center points.
  4. Press Enter/Return to commit the transformation.

Once you enter Transform Selection mode as suggested above use right-click or context menu to bring list with avaiable transformation options like Scale, Rotate, Skew, Distort... You can also use keyboard shortcuts for transformation operations which are the same as for free transform.
