Drop shadow not showing up

Hi there - I've got an image that I'm putting some text over in photoshop. I'm applying a drop shadow effect to the text. Everything looks fine. When I export to a jpg, the drop shadow disappears. Everything else in the image and text is there but the drop shadow effect is not showing up when I export. I've tried Save As to a jpg but that didn't work either.

Suggestions?

If you're using PS 2019, try checking "Legacy Compositing" in the preferences under performance.

I am having this same issue and cannot resolve it. The drop shadow will not save into the JPEG. If I increase the distance of the drop shadow, it appears more like the original art onscreen when I save, but as I increase the distance, the drop shadow starts to get cut off. This is driving me bonkers.

Chuck, I have had to invoke Legacy Compositing because of parts of Type layers being cut off, but the issue was always apparent on the open document.  I didn't actually try saving to see if had gone away.

dont12220411 can you paste a screen shot of the image open in Photoshop complete with the workspace and the layers panel showing, with the drop shadow layer selected?

Thanks.
