Dumbest Question Ever... Red Right Angle Selection Tool Appearing??

I'm finding a very weird thing in Photoshop 2020. When I hit "Ctrl+Shift+S" instead of "saving as" my pointer gets a red right angle attached to it, and it becomes some kind of selection tool. If I drag it across part of my image it copies it, and I can paste it down the selection, complete with a red box around it.

The keyboard shortcuts shows "Ctrl+Shift+S" as "Save As". I have never seen or hear of this kind of selection tool, nor can I find any info on it, anywhere. It's driving me a little crazy. Thank you in advance for looking into this!

No worries and good luck. Hopefully someone else in this forum will have the solution.

Well I solved it, turns out there was a program installed I didn't know about called, "Mouse Without Borders" which is used to control multiple computers with a single mouse, keyboard and multiple monitors. It doesn't show up in Startup, and has no icon in the icon bar.

The program has a setting for making a screen capture using the mouse with Control + Shift + S once I disabled it, Photoshop was acting fine!

Thanks for the suggestings and the help, I was just shocked no one had ever seen this weird right angel thing in Photoshop, it seemed like a function of it. I apprecaite your time and effort!

Do you have any other programs running that might be hijacking this keyboard shortcut combination? Are you running software that enhances your Clipboard in any way? Try restarting your computer and launching Photoshop before opening anything else. You may also have programs that are automatically launching at start up.

I appreciate that, but as I look though my system info file, it lists my computer name, various locations of my drives, drive names, file locations and ton of other private info.

Thanks for trying to help, but have you ever heard/seen this red right angle selection tool? I have tried rebooting, reinstalling, and turning off everything at start up with (What'sInStartup) they all give me the same result of a red right angle tool. It's kinda of fascinating. And I can't find any reference to it on Google.

I haven't seen anything like it myself. Weird indeed. Have you tried resetting the Photoshop Preferences?

Can you post your Photoshop system info, in Photoshop go to Help > System Info, hit the copy button and paste the entire thing into this thread

Hi, thanks for the quick response. I looked at this System Info, and it seems like there is a lot of personal/computer information in it. I don't feel comfortable posting it in an open forum. Have you heard of this red right angle thing? Is it a function of Photoshop? But I appreciate the offer.
