Hello, I'm working on a book where I'm going to print images in duotone black + pantone 877 silver.

I wonder if there are any guideline to properly edit the inks curves. Thanks.

There used to be Pantone Books for Duotone where there were photographic examples for a couple of settings (but not for all Pantone Colors) and as 877 seems like a popular silver that might be in there.

Edit: The mixtures being black + one Pantone color …

Otherwise it might be called for to have your printer do a test run (one sheet with a couple of variations of one image for example), proofing metallic colors is problematic as in this case even the printing order can make a significant difference.
