So I right clicked on a 3d text layer I had, and then I selected duplicate text. This made a second layer, but now I don't know how to edit the words in the duplicated layer.
In my case, I duplicated the word, "cold", and want to change the text to "edit"
I got Adobe Photoshop yesterday so I am a beginner. Please help me.
Thanks

Click where shown in the 3D panel , then on Edit Source in the properties panel.
That will open up a document where you can edit the original text and after changing it close and save to update the 3D layer.

Hi
Look at Dave's instructions again where he has the steps numbered:
What do you have selected on screen when you are looking at your 3D panel?

Hi Savage:

Everything in Photoshop happens on layers.

So when I select the layer, then go to Window >> 3D, it is showing this, and no place to click cold.

If you see that in the 3D panel then it looks like you have not got a 3D layer selected in the layers panel.
Please show both the layers panel with your 3D layer selected and the 3D panel.

Great! So I finished the third line in this:
But now I can't find the options bar. After I find the options bar, I should be able to edit the text if I am not mistaken. Please tell me if I did these first three steps right and if so then where the option bar is.

Hi
The options bar can be turned on from the Window menu, but that is for options for the tools. It will let you format your text if you have the Type tool, but it's not for changing the text.
I don't see the 3D panel in your screen shot. Go back and look at Dave's directions to select "COLD" in the 3D panel (Window menu), then click Edit Source in the Properties panel to edit your text.

Yes but if I do that, then it makes a new PSB window showing a 2d cold, and if I edit the 2d cold(third window as shows), then when I go back to cold.psb(I'm currently showing the cold1.psb), it still shows the same text called cold. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

That is correct. You edit the source which opens a psb containing the 2D text. Once done you close the psb ensuring you choose the option to save it. That will update the text in your 3D layer which will need to be re-rendered.
