Error (-50) in Photoshop when saving a .blp

Hey everyone,

I’m stuck with a frustrating issue in Photoshop:
"Could not save as 'MyFile.blp' because of a disk error (-50)."

I’ve tried everything I could find so far (and believe me, I’ve looked! 😅):

  • Running Photoshop as an administrator.
  • Checking folder permissions.
  • Resetting Photoshop preferences.
  • Disabling third-party plugins.
  • Updating and fully reinstalling Photoshop.
  • Disabling controlled folder access (thanks, Windows Defender... or not).
  • Checking the disk.

But here I am, still facing the same error, and I’m running out of ideas. 🙃

If anyone has a clue, a hidden trick, or even a miracle solution, I’m all ears! Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help. 🙏

Are you using a plug in? As far as I am aware, blp is not a directly supported file format.

Hi,

Thanks for your input. I've added a module to handle BLP files. Sometimes it works perfectly, and I can save without any issues. However, I still occasionally encounter the (-50) error randomly, and I can't figure out why.

I would try asking the author of the plug in if he/she has encountered such errors.
