Hello, i would like to report about one bug in photoshop,
i found it first time in cc 2017 version. Then as i checked it later, it had in all previous Photoshop CS version exept CS3. (i use CS3 version until present time because of it)
I was touch with one of yours technical support employe in real time, back then, and show him that error.
He told me, it will be fixed in next update but this error still there.
The bug is - when user use any tool foe example (burn\dodge), and after, he swich to brush and use (brush color picker) + (alt) >> (pick) and then trying to change brush (next \ pev brush) or (increase) or (decrease) brush size, program automaticly swich to previous tool in our example it (dodge\burn).

Does it it seem like your encountering Spring loaded tool shortcuts as described here?

That feature was introduced in Photoshop CS4.

Looking at your video again, I would say the problem was not that you were going fast, but that you were going too slowly. If you tap the shortcut key instead of holding it down, you simply switch to the new tool. The spring-loaded shortcut function only engages when you hold the key down for more than the default 250ms, which you can change. If you were to set it to, say, 500ms, you would probably never see the "problem" but would still have the convenience when you wanted it.

"...but that you were going too slowly. If you tap the shortcut key instead of holding it down..." - NOO!I won't hold buttons and my pressing very fast.

Are you even read what i'm wrote here? Or you even will not want delve into, what im describe in my posts.
I'm describe maximum precise what happen and what and how i doing it.
It's very simple procidure to check it your own. I don't know why you don't be able to do this.
Now about you wrote to me.
Ofcourse i am don't hold buttons.
I understand alredy how this feature works. During my work it very rapidly pressing, like i mentioned before it very fast, it is less then very little fraction of a second to per press.
Main thing in this feature right now is this, you don't need to hold it at all, to reproduce this situation, which i and other users talking about, anough will be, just click fast between brush and alt without holding and then try to change brush size. Try it your self. This is first.
And second it's other people notice this and disatisfyed of it as well, not only me.

P.S Main developers mystake it's that don't gave possibility for users swich off this feature in all previus versions of the program.

I'd like add something, as i've find out, this (spring loaded keys) setting to might to swich off only in PHOTOSHOP 2022 ver! All previous version simply dont have this possibility. (I checked it all, and i don't found it) And this so awful. One of great feature of photoshop is possability adjust your own personal keys config, and i adjusted my for very fast work process, i mean "blind type speed", and i work like so over 10 years on this my config.I tell it, just to your can imagine how fast it is. And this function, without possibility to turn it off, it totally CRAP!
And i found theme where other users dissatisfied with this feature as well. So like i said in my first appeal it look like a disgusting error, not a feature, especially it don't have able to switch off.

To AlanGilbertson, you can reproduce what i'm told you before, just press quick: brush >> alt, after any other tool which you were use before, and than you can imagine how does it feel every time on high working speed.

Yes, that is the sequence I tested, and I just tested it again after watching your video. I can't reproduce the problem; everything works as expected.

What I see from your video is you are using an English-language installation of Photoshop with a Cyrillic keyboard and very unusual keyboard shortcuts. Those are not the standard shortcuts for a localized version of Photoshop either.

That makes me suspect the problem is in some part of your unusual setup, not Photoshop itself. We can test this. Reset your Photoshop preferences, disable any custom plugins, and load the default keyboard shortcut set. Then try out your workflow sequence and report back what you find.

This is part of my config shortcuts on this keyboard picture.(i got the same keyboard).
When i described the issue, i've need to mentioned that all commands input from hotkeys non from popup menus.
So algotythm is this. 1) Select (not necessary to use) any tool 2) Then select brush tool >> hold alt >> click (color picker at any area) 3) change bush size with any option (preview \ next or increase \ decrease or first \ last brush) hotkey.
I include video. Every time when you see on this video, that the brush tool changes to another one, that's mean this bug happen.

B.T.W in very rare cases this function work properly.

You may need to make a video to show exactly what the sequence is. I tried to reproduce the problem based on your description but everything worked as expected. I could not make Photoshop switch back to the previous tool.
