Error: could not complete you request because the selected area is too large to use as a brush

I let my kid edit a picture, and ever since, I get the following error when I add a vector mask and try to use the brush tool.

"could not complete you request because the selected area is too large to use as a brush"

The error occurs when I try to switch from black to white, on the mask, using the brush tool.

Did you check your brush presets, to see if your kid created a huge brush?

It's doesn't look like he did. I've switched brushes to nurmerous others and still receive the error. I asked what all he did, he said he got the error when he made the brush 5000. But me lowering it to a normal ratio and/or switching brushes and changing the size, doesn't fix the issue.

I was so wrapped up into my project I didn't want to close and re-open PS. But it got to the point I couldn't go any further with this issue. Once I restarted it, I no longer receive the error. So not sure what all he did or if it was a glitch, but i'm good to go now. Thanks Chuck for responding and offering help.
