Hi,

I am new to Photoshop and I have been receiving this errror message when I attempt to use the spot healing brush tool. I do not get it all the time. Am I doing something wrong with my layers?

Paul

Alt-click is for the clone tool. The spot healing brush doesn't require a source. So no alt click.

Hi mclpaul

In addition to the Clone tool, the Healing brush requires Option (Alt) + Click. As Chuck says, the Spot Healing Brush does not.

Since you are asking about your Layers, check the Options bar for whichever of these tools you are using and ask again if it still doesn't make sense.
