When I download a .cr3 from a browser and open it in PS, I get this error, does anyone know how to turn it off?

Hi Joao,

Thanks for reaching out. The message you’re seeing is coming from macOS Gatekeeper rather than Photoshop. macOS adds a security tag to files downloaded from the internet, which can trigger that prompt even for regular image files like CR3.

Here are a few steps you can try:

As Jeff suggested, try opening the file from within Photoshop rather than double-clicking it. Launch Photoshop, go to File > Open, and select your CR3 file. This often bypasses the warning.

If you’d prefer to remove the warning for this file completely, you can do so by removing the security tag. To do that, open Terminal on your Mac and type the following command:

xattr -d https://adobe.ly/472caS1.quarantine followed by the file path for your CR3 file. This will clear the quarantine flag macOS uses to show that alert.

Let me know if you’d like step-by-step instructions for removing the warning for multiple files at once.

Best,

Anshul Saini

Try using Arquivo>Abrir... (File>Open) from within Photoshop rather than drag and drop.
