Error source and file names are the same

Please help, I keep getting this message when i am trying to combine pdfs, I have tried moving them from the network to the desktop and it also isn't allowed. what is happening?  thank you!!!

    Have you tried changing the name of one of the pdfs?

    that seems to have done the trick i think they were way too long and so i couldn't do anything with them (despite the random error).thank you!
