Hi,

I have a problem with my PDF file.

The text from Photoshop pop-up window: "There was a problem reading the layer data read the composite data instead."

The problem appeared after I saved my file, and tried to open it after one hour (on same Photoshop).

I'm read a lot of information about this issue at this forum, inclued this post:

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1345231

And I can't find any suitable solution.

Who can help me with this problem?

8Gb RAM

Photoshop CC 2018

file size - 1,12Gb

over 30 Artboards and a thousands layers (maybe 8000, I don't know)

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the error, If you created the document and saved the file you're having a problem opening with CC, then either the file is corrupt or you have run into a CC bug. If the file was save by some other version of Photoshop you may have run into a compatibility issue. Could you try updating Photoshop to version CC 2019 via Creative Cloud desktop app and let us know if it helps?

Regards,
Sahil

Hi.

I installed Photoshop CC 2019 (as a new app), and it didn't help, I still have a same problem.

Also I installed Photoshop CC 2019 on my second PC (Windows 10, 6Gb RAM), but it didn't help too.

About file format: I use PSD format.

If you do decide to update to 2019, I would recommend that when the installer comes up, to install a new version of PS and not replace what you have. That way if it does not fix the problem, and you need to go back to the old version, you still have it intact.

Also, did you save it as a .psd or another file format?

Hello, 8000 used to be the maximum number of layers in Photoshop.

I have to check whether it is still the case.

Did you save older versions of the file?

Does your OS offer older versions of files, like Time Machine on a Mac, or the equivalent on Windows ?
