Question

Everything has changed

Graphic designers are learning javascript development. I used to be able to find sample code in this community before, but all of this has changed recently. The community seems to have changed into a major interface. I can't find what I need by keyword. Learning materials, I am concerned about javascript.
How can I retrieve the information I need?
Sorry, my English is not good!

Another option, is to search for a bit of code, to see if it is found in any topic threads that did survive the forum move:

var baseName = origDoc.name.replace(/\.[^\.]+$/, '');

I agree that the new forum search feature is often useless.

In various scripts that I downloaded I noted the originating URL, never thinking that is would become unusable:

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1031437

This URL is now useless.

In the short term, if I am lucky, I can Google the URL and I might be presented with a cache link. But how long will a Google cache last? I don't have time to trawl through all the scripts that I have, manually trying to match things up again with the new forum format.

If I am very lucky, the cache will present the old topic title... Which I never archived as I thought the URL was more important:

Script to rename file in Photshop (before naming)

Then if I'm really, really lucky, this name will be carried over to the new forum for searching, if it is from 2016 or later:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/Photoshop/Script-to-rename-file-in-Photshop-before-naming/td-p/10484764

This is not a great example, it is one of my fledgeling scripts... But what about all of the gold in these forums, from the likes of the late Michael Hale, Paul Riggott, xbytor, SuperMerlin, r-bin,  Kukurykus etc?

Lost.

Such a shame.

I just want to search for javascript , but now The retrieved information has nothing to do with javascript!

I hope someone can help me, my job is to write javascript, which has caused me a lot of trouble, I can not get the demo code!

Search on this site is not usable IMO try using google to search the web who knows it may find thing in this site the site search can not.

The old java site search still seems to be able to search old forums like Photoshop Scripting and find things however, any thing found than is more than a few years old the links will not work correct

Thank you, PDF is still an effective way, but the better way to learn is to see the community's previous sample code, which is more conducive to my study, so I have made great progress, the professional words in PDF I am not understanding. More than just photoshop, I use both Illustrator and InDesign, thanks again!

The old posts should still be available, but not under a Forum of their own anymore, so they may be harder to find.
