Excuse me. Is it possible to photoshop text on a photo (like google translate can auto detect text)?

You are using "photoshop" as a verb, when Photoshop Ⓡ is actually the name of a very complex application. If you mean can you create editable text in a Photoshop document (psd) or tiff, then yes. If you mean something else, please clarify.

It's amazing that no one understood what you meant.
You mean detecting the text on a PNG file (for example) and converting it to a text layer, so that you can edit it on Photoshop, right?
I am looking for the same 🙂

It’s amazing that you are even looking for something like that in Photoshop.
Maybe something like this will be implemented in Photoshop in the future (what with the AI-related efforts Adobe has been making), so far it is not.
»object-aware editing« appears to be geared more towards objects in images but it might be possible to be developped towards text, too, I suppose …

What is the actual scenario?
What is your source material, why do you need to edit text in it, …?
Please post an examplary file.

If you want a photo to have text that can be read by google - that is a no. When you save your image it's just an image - jpg, png or gif for the web.

Melissa, if that's what the OP means, Google is using OCR to extract text from images.

@defaultvk2fb8nie7nh If you mean "Does Adobe Photoshop do OCR", then the answer is "No, but Adobe Acrobat does."

is it possible to photoshop in Adobe Acrobat?

Again - you use Photoshop as a verb, lol. What exactly are you trying to do? Do you want to open an image with text and edit that text on top of the image? Unless it's a psd document with a type layer, you can't. You would have to use lots of tricks in Photoshop to remove the text and create new text. You can place text on top of an image in Acrobat, but the original text will still be there.
Had no idea Google was so smart, lol.
