Is it just me? I'm trying to resize an EXR backdrop but when I go to save as the only options I have are .psb, .raw and .tiff
I'm in RGB 32bit on my colour mode so it's not that.
Adobe please stop trying to make things simpler and actually making them way more complicated
Has anyone else had this same issue? If so, did you figure out what was going on?

I know this is old but i had the same issue. edit>preferences>file handling and tick Enable legacy "save as" brings back .exr

What format are you trying to save to?

Rob@Latentsun if you're trying to save back to EXR - you'll need a third party plugin to do so to maintain your layers.

It's works just fine in here, Thank You!

why would adobe make it so I need a 3rd party plugin to save to a format I can read? I've never had a problem saving to exr before

Hi Rob@Latentsun what version of Photoshop are you running?
I just verified in 24.1.1 Save As shows Open EXR as a format when using 32-bit RGB.

I've got the same problem, running Photoshop 24.4.1 there is apparently no way to save out exr, hdr or any other 32bit format other than PSB, TIF or RAW not matter if I use legacy save-as or save-as-copy. Which is really weird cause one would think if I can open a file without a plugin I should be able to save it without a plugin as well. I'm not using any layers by the way, it's all collapsed to just a locked Background layer.

Needs to be RGB too – grayscale won't do it. 😉

@Kevin Stohlmeyer OpenEXR will only appear under Save As for a single layer file in 32 bit. For multilayered files, plug in support such as EXR-IO is required or you can choose OpenEXR under Save a Copy which will flatten the file.
