Export Save For Web (Legacy ) suddenly not working - Windows 10, Photoshop Version 25.11.0

Participant ,

I've been using Photoshop since the 1990's and the Save For Web function is critical to my work. For several years now this was made a "legacy" function, thus I use the Alt + Shift + Ctrl + S keys to "export" for web.

Last week this worked fine, today nothing happens when I either use those keys or select the File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy) function.

This is not good. I use this function ALL. THE. TIME.

Would really appreciate help on this!! THANKS.

EXACT same issue here. Been using Photoshop since CS2 days, and never had this issue.

Now I have to close PS and open again for every 'save for web'. Extremely frustrating.

@Adobe please address this; it's apparently not a "specific user's" issue anymore.

OK so I have used the Save for Web Legacy for exporting an image that is cut up with Slices from Grids for Instagram panos & grids by exporting a folder of jpgs.  It always worked fine.  The issue I'm having all of a sudden is that all of the images are exported as gifs except the last one which is exported as a jpg.  I tried mixing the gifs & jpgs and they don't line up perfectly?  I've tried selecting jpgs in the drop down, using jpg presets, I also reset my preferences, nothing works?  I also hae tried this in Photoshop 2024 & 2025.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for your help!

I first posted this problem nearly a year ago and we are all STILL experiencing the same issue. What is Adobe doing about this?? Apparently not a darn thing. We all pay a hefty monthly premium to Adobe and it feels like they are completely ignoring their many customers who've counted on and continue to DEPEND on the original (aka Legacy) Save For Web function for our work. It's not enough we found a cumbersome time-wasting work-around, we need the function to actually work and for PhotoShop to work the way so many of us count on it to. And are paying for.

I for one am sorely disappointed in Adobe's utter lack of response to us.

When Save For Web stops working, can you go to the PS filter menu and try to open the Camera Raw Filter?

If that too fails, it's probably this well reported bug (still unresolved). These two fail together:

This is typical Adobe software engineering. The good news is, they are raising their subscription rates, so all the bugs that stop their customers from getting work done cost us even more. Photoshop is buggier, Animate canvas is an unpredictible, unreliable mess and forget about Illustrator...  a UI nightmare. There is no consistency across the Creative Cloud suite, Adobe is the 800 lbs gorilla who can't be bothered to improve their products because what else are we going to do? They know we'll keep paying.

ARE WE KIDDING?!!?!
I just paid $263 for this year thing and it went from awesome CS5.1 to 2025 where I can't even save files.
It bugs out after a single file as everyone says and oh there is so much more wrong with it but for this topic, why doesn't Save for Web Work?

I need a fix or an extremely reduced price.

To the people at Adobe who seem to ignore their customers:

The "Save for Web" function is very important to all of us who create images for websites.  It would be nice if you added "Save to WebP or AVIF formats as well.  A better and faster convert from film negative option would be much appreciated in Camera Raw and\or Photoshop.  I am staggered when I think of all the money you rake in from subscriptions and yet you seem to just not care what your customers think or listen to their problems concerning Photoshop.  BTW, The last few "updates" to Photoshop have been horrible.  Make your software stable!!!  Having to restart Photoshop multiple times to be able to use "Liquify" or "Save for Web" shows Adobe's lack of responsibility in codeing their flagship app.  Attention to details and quality has went right out the Adobe window!

You might want to listen to your users, remember in history, countries have risen and fallen, software companies can do the same... remember Aldus!

Unapologetically,

Nolan Conley

They are slowly enshittifying desktop Photoshop to get people migrating
onto a web based version. Once they have you trapped on the web they'll
never let you go.
