Exporting and Importing Presets - where has it gone?

@Trevor.Dennis—For a community expert, your comment suggests a surprising lack of basic comprehension. Either that, or given your pattern of unhelpful opinions that offer zero constructive insight yet you felt utterly compelled to share, the more likely explanation is that you simply have nothing better to do. Nothing, it seems, except attempt to shift blame onto users who are rightfully voicing their frustrations with Adobe's persistent habit of making changes to their software without any apparent benefit.

In this specific instance, they've actually removed functionality, failed to update their own help documentation, and consequently caused unnecessary time expenditure and frustration. Frustration that, frankly, shouldn't exist.

But perhaps, as I can only imagine is necessary for you, I need to spell this out.

 Zhaolong32652800htbk did not mention a "loss". The word you seem to have trouble reading was clearly "waste" or specifically "wasted" (That's past tense in case you're having trouble keeping up.) Their "loss" as you call it, was clearly in the form of wasted time. While I'm sure Zhaolong32652800htbk is perfectly capable of speaking for themselves, allow me to assist by addressing your astonishingly inept questions in bullet form:

1.) It was updated to a newer version of Photoshop. This much seems painfully obvious.

2.) They lost time. They lost time because Adobe, for reasons unclear, chose to remove the ability to import or export workspaces directly within Photoshop, while simultaneously failing to update their in-app help guides to reflect this change. (And speaking personally, your apparent lack of comprehension here has lost what faith I had in how these "expert" badges are handed out.)

3.) PHOTOSHOP. It was clearly PHOTOSHOP. The "loss" you bafflingly refer to again would be their personalized workspace, along with any other user-defined modifications like shortcuts, brushes, and the myriad of other presets crucial to their workflow.

4.) So are you genuinely suggesting, Trevor, that when you download and install a new version of Photoshop, your presets are automatically imported with absolutely no action required on your part to get the new version working exactly as your previous one did? That your workspace magically appears with all your preferred windows open and in the correct layout? Because if so, I, and I'm sure many others, would be fascinated to learn precisely how you achieve this without manually transferring files outside of the application.

Taking another user's perfectly valid comment about an illogical decision made by Adobe and twisting it into a transparent straw man purely so you can then attempt to blame them for the perceived problem you've conjured isn't just unhelpful, it's argumentative, and frankly, demonstrates a level of critical thinking that falls well short of what one might expect from someone labelled an "expert" in anything.

I want to be able to export *one* packaged preset file and then import it on another computer to make the experience identical on the new machine.

I want to be able to chose what is transfered in this one file from the following:

• Actions
• Brushes
• Black and White (Adjustment)
• Channel Mixer (Adjustment)
• Color Range
• Color Swatches
• Contours
• Curves (Adjustment)
• Custom Shapes
• Doutone (Mono, Duo, Tri, Quad)
• Exposure (Adjustment)
• Gradients
• HDR Toning (Adjustment)
• Hue and Saturation (Adjustment)
• Keyboard Shortcuts
• Levels (Adjustment)
• Menu Customization
• Patterns
• Selective Color (Adjustment)
• Styles
• Tools
• Workspaces

it would be nice to also move over Plugins

moving all these items by hand will take a long time to find everything and then copy each over/import each to a different place on the new machine with lots of posibilites of breaking things or making mistakes.
