Exporting MP4

Hi, When I have created a animation, I go to export > render video, but MP4 is not an option. It's only allowing me to export frames as a jpeg (photoshop image sequence). Adobe Media encoder is greyed out. 

I have adobe media encoder and quicktime player. 

Does anyone know why this might be?
