This is a batch editing process and is very simple with Photoshop,

First, you should gather all your images into a folder, then open PS and go File > Scripts > Image processing

Pretty self-explanatory from here but brief overview; Select folder to read from, then select folder to save to.

For you, you’ll want to pay attention to the ‘Resize to Fit’ option, say 500 x 500 it will scale all the images you previously selected to match this without cutting or trimming the image at all.

Hit ‘Run’ after you’re happy with your options and let PS do its thing.

Hopefully, this is what you’re after!

Hi Charles

Thank you for your quick response, i tried on a set of images that measured 2400x3600 pixels, and wrote it to 1200x1200, but it came out as 800x1200 pixels instead?

This is because it’s locking the aspect ratio as it assumes you don’t want a stretched/squashed image or that you don’t want to lose any of the images, you can’t 100% fit a 2400x3600 image into 1200x1200 unless you’re okay with losing some of the images or as mentioned you’re okay with squishing the image.

See my example;
