Fade Command is greyed out????

Hi

Does anyone knwo why the fade command would be greyed out? Im using PS 2020

I want to fade a patch but cant. Im on a regular layer not a background layer etc. the layer isnt locked.

This is so frustrating.

Any help would be appreciated

    Whenever odd behaviour creeps into an Adobe program a preference reset will often fix the problem. Hopefully your issue is that simple.

    I finally got round to reseting the preferences and it did fix the problem. Thanks for your help!

    Are you performing another action between applying the patch and then trying to apply the fade? For example are you clicking on the document or switching to a different layer?

    Hi,

     

    No, I'm just using the patch tool and going straight to Edit - fade - Ive tried it with the selection still on and the selection off, either way it is stiull greyed out.

    Have you tried resetting your preferences just to ensure it's nothing abnormal like a corrupt setting?
