Feathering Edges No Longer Working — What Am I Missing?

Hello,

 

Granted, I'm an infrequent user of Photoshop, but it's so unintuitive.

 

So I used to be able to feather edges, but it's not working now. I've tried multiple ways and searched for a solution online but with no success.

 

What on Earth am I doing wrong? Is there something obvious I'm missing?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What »feather« are you talking about – Feathering a Selection or applying a Feather to a Layer Mask or Vector Mask or …? 

    Could you please post screenshots the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

      @OCD Stee The most common "oops" moment is trying to set the feather value after drawing the selection with a marquee or lasso tool. Give it a try by setting the feather value first in the options bar, or by using Select > Modify > Feather... on an active selection. I'm confident we can get you feathering again in no time!
