File contains corrupt layers, help

Ive been working on a project for a few days now and havent had any problems. Its not an imtense project and only has a few simple layers. Today when I go to open it up it wasnt showing in my 'recents'. After searching in my file editor I was able to find it. When I try to open the file it says "This file contains one or more layers which appear to be corrupt. Continue reading layers?". I'm able to select "ok, cancel, or flatten". no matter which option i pick i doesnt work and I cannot regain access to the file. It says "Could not open "FoliagePractice.psd" because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered". I've never had this problem before. I saw some other people say that this issue could be cause by ram or drivers, but I'm pretty sure this isnt it because Im running on a relativly newer PC with lots of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Did your file contain Smart Object? May be it has been linked to "FoliagePractice.psd"? Also can you try to open these file in Online Web Photoshop?

I dont think it had a smart object. I was bringing in images but i would then convert them into a layer. The file would not open in Oline Photoshop either.

File corruption is caused by failing hardware. No exception.

It could be defective RAM or a failing drive. A more common cause is saving directly over a network connection or to an external drive. Don't do that. And then you have power outages when saving.

External drives are vulnerable because they get kicked around a lot, and worn cables and connectors can cause micro-drop-outs. That can be enough. So if you're using an external drive, replace all cables regularly, and be careful when handling them.
